Feb 22 Chicago Food Packing Event
Our Youth Leaders for this event were Vikram Pai and Mihir Binaykia.
Here are the organizations we served

Blessings in a Backpack is a nonprofit that provides weekend food to students who may not have enough to eat outside of school. Since many children receive free or reduced lunches during the week, the program packs and sends home easy-to-prepare meals to ensure they have food until they return to school.
As part of teaming up with Blessings in a Backpack, we packed 200 meals for Hoffman Estates High School kids who don't have a meal over the weekend. Each bag contained the following items:
2 Protein: Mac n Cheese, Ramen
2 Healthy Snacks: Skinny Pop, Goldfish
2 Breakfast: Chocolate Milk, Granola
This will help students have meals over the weekend and remind them that they are supported.

We also teamed with Wayside Cross Ministries and packed 50 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with chips and granola bars.
Elgin Wayside Cross Ministries is a local nonprofit that supports people facing homelessness, poverty, or crisis. They provide shelter, meals, clothing, and basic necessities, along with job training, counseling, and recovery programs to help individuals rebuild their lives and become independent.
